Short Story - Jungle of Terror

It was all she could do was not to jump out of her seat as heightened screams tore through the cabin, amplified twice its loudness due to the cramped cabin size. The nose of the plane dipped and passengers of Oahu Air 112 were passing out one by one due to the drop in altitude. She didn't feel sick as she had done numerous parachute jumps during her Navy SEAL training. However, she could not control her heart from racing wildly as the plane careened at a much steeper angle. She tried attempted to steady her breathing as she inhaled and exhaled deeply from the oxygen mask that was strapped onto her mouth. She glanced to her left and right and saw that most of the screaming passengers have already passed out. She clutched her armrests so tightly that her knuckles turned white as the strong pull of gravity threatened to make her slide out of her seat. She suppressed the urge not to puke as a disembodied hand of a man hurtled down the aisle to come to a rest just a few seats away from her. The plane, now, inclined at a steeper angle brought a 100kg food cart down the aisle, heading straight for the severed limb. She heard a crunch and saw red splatters. She looked up to the ceiling as if to find a moment of solace where at least something was white but then, it was covered with high velocity splatter of grey matter and blood. She looked down in disgust and shut her eyes, not wanting to think of the fate of the poor man behind her. .
Moments passed and she sneaked a look outside the window. The lush green tops of the trees were fast approaching and she braced herself for the impact, squeezing the backpack within her knees tighter and leant forwards to the back of the seat in front of her. Thoughts started to pour in as she silently cursed her fate. She did not want to die that soon, hell, it was way to early to die. She regretted being so eager to please her commander that she took up this mission and just had to end up on this ill-fated flight.
