The Problem with Zoos

How would you feel if you were in a cage all your life only for entertainment? The word "zoo" was coined in the 1840s by the London Zoo, which first called itself a "zoological garden," but zoos have become more a prison than a garden for animals, in fact; current zoos have lost the true purpose that was to protect endangered animals, and now zoos are only a way to earn a lot of money at expense of the helpless animals. Zoos should be eliminated because it does not help in anything. Zoos only cage animals that are not in danger, do not have the appropriate habitats, and provide entrainment not education.
The first of these reasons, the unfair imprisonment, is evil. Firstly, some zoos only keep animals to experiment with them and see if it can be used in humans; in fact, there have always been manifestations around the world to stop this kind of procedures in animals, but nothing has stopped it. Besides the experiments, it is also very common to see the black market involved in zoos due they are continuously seeking exotic animals, and zoos are usually rich sources to get them. Unfortunately, various zoos practice these illegal acts and many animals have disappeared or died because of it. Finally, several zoos simply cage animals just to become more popular and to catch the attention of new people even if the animals are not in danger.
Inappropriate habitats, which is a second reason to eliminate zoos, is one of the most harmful for the animals as the unfair imprisonment. First of all, zoos have animals with all type of sizes either big or small. However, they do not account with the accurate cages for those that are very huge, so they are often stressed out and with bad mood. Moreover, zoos are located in places that are not favorable for all the animals; as a consequence, they often suffer from diseases like dehydration, or they are anxious all the time. Lastly, zoos do not hire people well trained to take care of the animals, so these individuals treat them wrongly; indeed, they commonly receive an unscrupulous treatment, but it is because the owner does not like to invest money in stuff related to animals.
