The "Allegory of the Cave," is accurate representation of the world and the society that we live in. We are chained by our thoughts and we only see what we want to see regardless of knowing about the truth, we are not even trying to look at thing from another perspective. Plato illustrates "Anyone who has common sense will remember that the bewilderments of the eyes are two kind and arise for two causes, either from coming out of the light of going into the light, which is true of the mind's eye" (212). What Plato is trying to tell us is that we have two kinds of visions or eyes, the bodily eye and the mind's eye. The bodily eye is a reference to the eyes which is based on our senses and we always believe in what we see by these eyes because our thoughts are limited and we cannot think beyond it, while Mind's eye is a metaphor to the wisdom and power of knowledge. The mind's activates when we learn about the truth and look at things from a different angle. This is the stages where our curiosity increases, eager to know more. This is where a lot of people panic after they realize what the reality is and how other people are in the darkness of ignorance, even sometimes they will regret what they have learnt.
