Home is a Trailer Park

Growing up is pretty tough, but being in the right place while it takes place can make it a whole lot easier, and better yet; enjoyable. Most of us that reside on this beautiful island have had a place to live. Whether it be in an apartment, house, or even a mini home in a run down trailer park, we have all had a place to call home. Many have stereotyped people who live in a trailer park to have "less than" everyone else. But for anyone who has lived there, they would understand the true value it was to be there. They understand that everyone is family, the memories and the friends made will never be forgotten, and most importantly the the amazing things that it will teach you and you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
During the first six to seven years of my life, my family and I lived in a trailer park. It is located behind the hospital, seemingly hidden away from the rest of the world. It was a very confined place to live, but no one seemed to care; if anything, it made it better. The park was almost like a big cul-de-sac with mini homes placed on either side of the road. Of course, there were smaller roads that veered off the main strip, but they only consisted of around 2-4 houses each. The houses themselves were not as bad, or run down, as many would think, they were well maintained by the people who owned them. When I think back to this place, it always brings a smile and many good memories.
Although most would view it as an atrocious place to live, I and many others enjoyed living in such a small community. Since it was close quarters, everyone knew eachother; we were one big-happy-trailer-park family. Finding someone to play with was never a challenge. I had so many friends, in fact, this was where I met my absolute best friend. We had so many adventures and used our imagination vigirously and constantly. There was never a dull moment thats for sure. Whether you were playing at the park, getting into mischief, or simply colouring on your best friends deck, there was always something to do and someone to do it with.
