Rosa's Struggle

Rosa Montano, 23, is an average college student. She lives with her mother and is the older of her two siblings. Also, Rosa is the first one to graduate from college. For the last four years, she has been in what she described as a daily struggle. In the island of Puerto Rico, a 65% of college students end up dropping out due to monetary issues. But she has kept on fighting until the end. She always knew she wanted to go to college, but she didn't really knew what she wanted to be. But she knew she wanted a profitable job. It wasn't until a casual chat with high school friends that she figured it out. They were talking about careers, and she said she didn't know what she wanted to study. One of her friends had a quick and easy solution. "When I spoke up and said I had no idea what I wanted to do, she turned around and asked what I liked to do. I replied that I liked to draw and play video games. She told me that was it. My calling was making video games.".
Rosa considered the idea. Being a video game designer was a complicated job. It involved many things out of her reach. She decided to tone it down, something less complicated. She thought about it, and came to the conclusion that video games had cut scenes, cut scenes made by animators and graphic designers. She would be a graphic designer. She started looking for a good college and finally she found it. A normal day in her life starts early. She wakes up at 3 am and has a quick breakfast. Then she heads to the bus station and waits for her bus to arrive, which usually arrives at 4:30 am. It's a two-hour-long ride from the township of Isabel to the township of Bayamon. There she takes the train, which takes her to another bus station. There she waits for her second bus. Around 6:50 am, she has reached the city of Guaynabo and her destination, Atlantic University. Her first class starts at eight and her last one is at three in the afternoon.
