Alabama Concert Report

 

            
             Alabama a band which many people know of as one of the greatest bands of Country music today, as well as many years ago. Alabama has been playing together for many years now. Until now when they have decided to make this year their last year for concert tours, Alabama playing their last tour called the Alabama Farewell Tour. They played at the Hyundai Pavilion at Glen Helen on October 3, 2003.
             The band Alabama consists of four band members: Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, Jeff Cook, and Mark Herndon. Randy Owen is the main singer, rhythm guitarist, and harmonist. Jeff Cook is the second main singer, the backup signer, plays the violin, fiddle, guitar, harmonica, keyboard, bass, and banjo, and mandolin. Teddy Gentry is the vocalist and bass guitarist. Mark Herndon is the drummer and percussionist. These band members will tell you themselves they are not the only people who make up the band during concerts. The group Alabama has four other members who are only Tour Musicians. These four are Larry Hanson, Dino Pastin, Chris Walters, and Paul Binkley. The Tour Musician, which played with Alabama on October 3, 2003, was Larry Hanson.
             These band members come from all over the United States but met and started the band in the state of South Carolina in the year 1972. They were however a band before then, but never actually did a lot together as a band until 1972. Alabama had a rocky start, as all bands do, but they quickly grew into one of the greatest and well-known bands today. Alabama has made twenty-four CDs starting from 1980-2003, with many of them being gold and platinum CDs. .
             The songs which make up all these best selling CDs are songs which come from the heart, the soul, and real life experiences in which the band members have gone through or seen first hand. Which is more then likely why they make it to the top ten in music scales of Country Music.
             Along with spending so much time making their CDs, playing in concerts, and much more Alabama finds the time to visit those who are in need.
