The Best Allround Fishing Knot?

What Is The Best All-round Fishing Knot?.
Hypothesis: I think that simpler knots which have less turns and twists that were traditionally strong enough to be used on nylon monofilament lines will not be as effective when used on braid. I think . will end up being the best all-round fishing knot.
Background Information: Until a few years ago the most common fishing line was nylon monofilament. This line's advantages were that it was cheap to make and buy, didn't rot, was strong for its diametre and was clear making it less visible to any fish. Though its disadvantages were that it stretched under load, which did not allow fisherman to feel any possible fish, it also deteriates with use, meaning multiple replacements.
Braided lines have always existed. They were made from materials such as Dacron. They had very little stretch, they were a lot more visible to any fish were very expensive and were limited to deep sea fishing use only. They have more in common with rope than the other nylon monofilament fishing lines.
Recent advances in materials have allowed the production of braided line which keeps all the good characteristics of the old braid but is much thinner and less expensive than the traditional line.
Unfortunately the earlier adopters of the new braided line have reported many knot failures resulting in lost tackle and fish.
Traditionally fishing knots were kept simple to allow tying in the dark and to allow them to be tied quickly. Another way of improving knot strength was to wet the line before it was tied. This allowed better formation of the knot and reduced the effect of friction during formation.
Given the reported failures of knots in the new braided line this study will examine how the knot complexity effects the strength of the knot on both types of line. This will determine the best all-round knot.
