The thesis of my article was the fact that men and women's views on sexuality are totally different in many areas, but at that same time some are also the same. The point the author is trying to make is that men are more sexually driven then women, in other words men are more likely to have more sexual partners in a lifetime. Men think about sex more often the women as women do as centuries of fact have proved. Men are more likely to get for sex and women and more likely to turn down sex. Some of this is harsh reality but it is true. Many myths have been passed down about controversies concerning sex. In the end though you have to look at the statistical data to interpret how people are dealing with these issues in today's world. 54% of men think about sex daily, compared to the 19% of women. Many Americans do not experience the act of sex until their married, sticking to their morals and values.
The author used a survey taken by men and women in the US. Using this poll the author broke down the statistical information given by the people and using it to his advantage. The information given supports his thesis and therefore helps him investigate the topic better. It makes researching easier by hearing the opinions of the actual products. The main point of this article is the sexual habits of people, and the only people who know that are themselves and themselves only. This poll helped the reader and everyone who has read it peer into the mind of the male/female gender, and how they feel about their sexual roles in society.
The author presented his evidence in a series of charts and numerical data to help support his thesis. These charts were separated into different categories, breaking down the information into more detailed and more specific data. These charts are overwhelmingly the strongest part of this article, the rest of the article is pure opinion expressed by the author. The opinions the author made in the article (though heavily thought through and researched) were still opinions.
