So he plants his daughter in Hamlet's path and hides. Surprised by the sight of her he begins to babble making her believe her dear Prince has really gone mad. King Claudius suspects that some deep-rooted distress is the cause of Hamlet's mad behavior not love. Claudius decides to send hamlet on a journey to England. But Polonius persists believing Ophelia's rejection caused the Prince to crack. He suggests the Queen speak to her son about the matter in private. Some time after this Hamlet thanks Horatio for his honesty and asks him to watch King Claudius during the play. If Claudius appears uncomfortable Hamlet and Horatio will both know that Claudius is guilty? During the play Claudius interrupts the performance and departs Hamlet is now convinced of Claudius' guilt. When Hamlet finally agrees to speak with the queen privately he vows to treat her harshly, but only with words. While going to her he comes across the guilty King in prayer, he draws his sword for revenge but halts. Realizing that killing him in the midst of confession, Claudius would be sent straight to heaven. Revenge will have to come later he will have to watch him and catch him doing something wrong. Hamlet visits Queen Gertrude's chamber frightening her with criticisms. But he Mistakes a spying Polonius for Claudius and kills him. Becoming aware of the orders shipping him to England, Prince Hamlet senses a trap.
ACT4.
Men are sent to lay Polonius' corpse in the chapel they question Hamlet about the body's whereabouts, but he only answers in riddles. Claudius orders Hamlet prepared immediately for departure to England. In secret letters written to the English King, there are instructions to murder Hamlet upon his arrival. Back at the castle Poloniuses sudden death by Hamlet's sword has driven Ophelia to insanity. Laertes (her brother) charges the castle, intending to avenge his father's murder but he learns the king is not responsible for the dead hamlet is.
