             I am a Irish and Italian American, I belong to the lower middle class , I am.
             Catholic, I"m in the young adult age group, and I live in a predominantly white.
             community in Philadelphia.
             2. My experiences with people of different backgrounds has been very valuable.
             to me. I have been around a lot of different types of people in my life. Growing.
             up in Philadelphia and going to public schooling from kindergarten until eight.
             grade has allowed me to experience all different kinds of cultures. With.
             Philadelphia, being so diverse you will meet and see people from all walks of.
             life in public schooling. Also in a public school you get to learn about all.
             different cultures by celebrating all holidays and my school in particularly had.
             diversity awareness days where we would all bring in home cooked foods, games,.
             and different traditions to share.
             Then going into high school my father put me into a Catholic school, which was.
             a totally different world for me. I don't think I liked Catholic school as much.
             At Archbishop Carrol, where I attended, it seemed that everyone one there was.
             either Irish or Italian and everyone had more money then me. Catholic school's.
             atmosphere was very different. It seemed like everybody was the same.
             And lastly when I came to college.
             I have seen the most diversity. I've met people that , like myself,.
             would not be in college if it were not for their full-paid scholarship to my.
             friend who's father drives a Bentley.
             3. All of these experiences greatly effected my life. I feel these experiences.
             fill benefit me through out life by making me better educated. It is good to be.
             well rounded and by knowing about various cultures you are taking a step in the.
             right direction.
             4. When I was growing up, my family put a great deal of importance in getting.
             me to know about different cultures. My parents told me to learn as much as.
             possible from other students about their families and traditions. They felt.
             that by me knowing about other cultures that I would be a better person.
