Health care is a service to human life, it is meant to help defend the right to the physical life. Health care is not just a job because it is the total commitment of the worker towards the well-being and recovery of their patients.
Procreation and fertility control are two focuses in the document. Fertility control is the idea that procreation is to occur when two adults, who are married, responsible adults, decide to have a family. According to the document, and the ideas of the Catholic Church, the married couple should always choose to have a large family, and only for serious situations may fertility control occur. The document states that it is only in these situations that a couple may decide not to have any more children, or not have children for a length of time. There is to be no use of birth control, other than the rhythm method. This is because of the dual meaning of procreation in a marriage, the unitive and procreative. The unitive meaning is the joining of the two bodies during the sexual act, and procreation is the creation of life at the end of the sexual act. If any other method of fertility control is used, other than the rhythm method, which is the method that follows the ovulation cycle of the woman, it provides a barrier between the two bodies, and between the natural procreation that is to occur in the presence of the Lord. I agree that this is the ideal that should occur in life, that children should be born between two married people, and that no barrier should prevent life from forming, but I also look at the social aspect, where less people are being married, less people are choosing to have children until later in life, and more are deciding to control the number of children they will have in their families. So, while the ideas presented in the document should be practiced in marriage, in society, by modern rules, the following of these ideas is not always possible.
