Muslims and Chritians: Can't we all just get along?

.
Muslims study the Qur"an which is the writings of the profit Muhammad. They believe in one God with many profits. Unlike Christians, they view Jesus as just another profit and not the Son of God. Muslims study the writings of the other profits including the Old and New Testaments but believe that they have been distorted over time via numerous translations and thus are not the holy word of God. The Qur"an was written soon after Muhammad received his word from God so Muslims believe it to be the perfect word of God. It is only studied in the original Arabic and translations are never used for worship. It's not that Muhammad was a better profit that Jesus or any other profit. Muhammad was simply the most recent of the profits and his words were written down very quickly after being spoken to him so Muslims believe the Qur"an to be more accurate. Although divided on which book is correct the core beliefs and teachings of both religions are almost identical. Both teach peace and love as well as a devotion to God and our fellow man. Both religions promote the cooperation and giving between people and put the wants and desires of God above our own. Islam and Christianity have many other traits in common.
One similarity is a strong belief in monotheism; that there is only one true God. However, Islam takes the belief to a deeper level, ruling out Jesus as the Son of God. "They do blaspheme who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One Allah. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them". (Qur"an, 5:73-75) The Bible on the other hand clearly states that Jesus is God, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". (Holy Bible, John 14:6) According to Ahlul Bayt, the Muslim would say that the Bible was corrupted by man so it can't be completely trusted; "Even though Jesus himself never claimed to be divine, Paul gave him this attribute for one reason - to gain converts among the Gentiles.
