            Just because the outer image of someone's home, and someone's .
             personal appearance is not what you expect, it does not mean they are unfortunate or .
             unattractive because "you can't always judge a book by its cover." In the case of my .
             dear friend from the Bronx, she decided to move out of her apartment of so many years .
             so her daughter and her husband can live together and raise their family. The new area .
             she moved to was really not so bad, but the building was disgusting. There was trash all .
             inside, the floors seemed to have never been mopped, there was writings on the walls, .
             and the elevator smelled of urine. I felt reluctant to even proceed past the front doors, .
             but once I surpassed the feeling of disgust; I got to her apartment only to find that .
             there was truly an oasis in the middle of all this negativity. Her apartment appeared to .
             have come directly out of trading spaces episode, with a Peruvian theme in her bedroom, .
             and safari look to her living room. I felt I was on vacation. Another instance was when I .
             met my husband for the first time. He was very attractive, and dressed well, however, he .
             is short in stature, which made me feel a bit reluctant to move forward with the .
             relationship. He turned out to be the most loving man in this world. As our relationship .
             grew, he gave me everything I ever wanted. He definitely conformed to the saying .
             "Great things come in small packages." Finally we have Greg, a good friend of my .
             husband. When I first met him he seemed to be a stand up type of man, decent looking, .
             clean-shaven, well spoken, and very intelligent. As time progressed, his mind and body .
             began to metamorphosize into something we were not use to. His addiction to painkillers .
             and cigarettes were taking a toll on his body. He became a liar, a thief, and someone we .
             couldn't count on. These changes were brought on by his self- destruction and alienation .
             from his job and family.
