The nature conservancy

I researched the the Nature Conservancy which was established in 1951, and since then, they have been working to protect more than 117 million acres. It is a program made to protect and save many of the greatest places on Earth. In this paper, I will discuss the general mission of the Nature Conservancy, some of the things they do, current activities of the program, and also some of the places they are trying to protect and how they go about doing those things. .
The Nature Conservancy deals with issues to try and preserve and save some of the Last Great Places on Earth including places like Davis Mountain, TX, Emiquon, Illinos, Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea, Mount Hamilton, CA, Palmyra, Atoll, and San Luis Valley, CO. Their mission is to preserve plants, animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. Some of the places that they work are in Asia, Pacific, Caribbean, Central America, North America, and South America. They work closely with communities and businesses and have a science-based plan called Conservation by Design that achieves tangible results. They also use a non-confrontational approach. They preserve more than 117 million acres of land around the world by purchasing the land and protecting it. The priority initiatives that are focused on in the Nature Conservancy are fire, climate change, freshwater, marine, and invasive species. One of their main projects is the Campaign for Conservation. There is a $1.4 billion campaign total since the start in September 2003. In this program, which is the largest conservation campaign ever to take place, the Nature Conservancy invested $1.25 billion to save 200 of the Last Great Places on Earth and develops a detailed vision that identifies and protects the most precious ecosystems, which they call a Blueprint for Saving the Last Great Places.
