How Britney Spears manipulates her image to make money

I'm looking at the way that the singer Britney Spears exploits her image to appeal to a specific target audience. When I was researching Britney, where ever I looked she was plastered on magazine covers and constantly in the newspapers. My information is mainly from teen magazines like Sugar, J17, CosmoGirl and ELLEgirl, I also found quite a lot about her in celebrity gossip magazines such as OK and Closer. On the internet their were endless amounts of fan sites, online shrines and men's web sites dedicated to Britney Spears.
Britney Spears started her fame career on the Mickey mouse club at a young age, she worked along side Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Back then her dress sense was relatively normal but these day's she's seen nearly every day by the press and tends to look shocking in order to make it to the front covers of tabloids. For instance, Britney wore a tattooed effect, mesh top to make herself look like a true rock chick covered in tattoos. A few other fashion tragedy's of her's were when she wore a red PVC outfit, a school girl's costume and when she had a real snake around her neck. It seems quite obvious to me that her image is meant to make her look sexy and rebellious. Britney probably doesn't chose what she wears to awards and evening events because her managers and producers decide for her, the people who created Britney Spears and who made her popular have also created her image. In the daytime she usually dresses casually in jeans and a top but she still seems to show a lot of flesh, Britney's rebellious streak came out when she was spotted on a beach in a red bikini smoking a cigarette. .
Her hair has pretty much stayed the same since she stepped out into fame, long and unrealistically blonde. She has had a few changes like when she had a short bob with red streaks and once she had a perm. .
