Davey Havok

"Nothing from nowhere, I"m no one at all, radiate, and recognize one silent call as we all form one dark flame." Davey Havok is the one person in my life that I look up to. He is the lead singer from AFI. He writes all of his own music and he writes it because he likes it not because it is popular. This is the way that I live my life. I don't do anything because it is the cool thing to do or because it is what is popular. I do everything my own way and that's how I like it. Ever since I was little I have been different from everyone else. I was the only little kid that listened to punk music. I started to like bands like Green Day and Rancid when I was in the first grade. But I loved the fact that I liked something that no one else has heard of. But my love for non-conformity really started when I listened to AFI when I was in the fifth grade. Davey has been a role model for me ever since then. He is the actual person who showed me that you don't have to be like everyone else, you can be your own person. I love the way that I talk and dress even though on certain occasions my mother tells me I have to change. And she does not let me dress for school in my punk clothes all the time. But if you were to see me on a normal day outside of school you will find me in a band t-shirt, my shoes I have had for 3 years, my spikes and about 30 bracelets split between my two arms and so much more stuff I can't even list it all. And I love the way that I am, I would not change myself for anyone by my mother, but she understands. Just last week I saw AFI for my first time and it was the greatest thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life. It makes me so happy to go to concerts. And seeing my favorite band for the first time was absolutely priceless. I saw Davey in person and he is everything that I thought he would be. He had long black hair and was wearing white make-up and red eyeliner.
