Ivan Palvov: Classical Conditiong

 

             Ivan Pavlov, was a Russian physiologist whose research on the physiology of digestion led to the development of the first experimental model of learning, Classical Conditioning. Ivan Pavlov earned many awards and become one of the most famous physicologist. Pavlov discover although by accident lead the way to many discovers in his field and earned his a credit repuation.
             Ivan Pavlov was born on Spetember 14, 1849, at Ryazan, Russia. Because he was born into a large family povertry was always an issue. His father, Peter Dmitrievich Pavlov, was the village priest, as a young boy Ivan was found more often on church property. Pavlov inherited many of his father's characteristcs including a storng will to succeed , according to many sources. He began school at the Ryazan Ecclesiastical High School, he eventually entered the Ryazan Ecclesiastical Seminary. At the Seminary, he planned to follow his carrer in theology. .
             However, after being introduced to the work of Charles Darwin, Alfred Wallace, and Ivan Sechenov, Palvov decided to transfer to the University of St. Petersburg to gain more knowledge about natural science. In 1875, Pavlov graduated from the University and received his degree of Candiadate of Natural Sciences. Pavlov while attending the University there, he gained great respect for a professor of physiology, Cyon. Due to Cyon's great passion for physiology, he decide to become a physiologist during his third year. At that point , Pavlv started work as an assistant in a labortary in which he earned 50 rubles a month. After a year he beomes an assistant in the Ustimovich's labortotory where he works for two years until 1878. While begin there in the summer of 1877, he spent time in Physiological Labortary of Professor R. Heidenthain at Breslau. In 1879 he graduates from the Military-Medical Academy, still wanting to learn more he continues on to the Academy of Medical Surgery for his thrid course, he completes his studies the same year and is awarded his first gold medal.
