Ocean City, Maryland

Ocean City is located on the peninsula of Maryland. This small place is one of the top vacation choices for Marylanders to go in the summer. It is also a hot spot for seniors in high school that just graduated and go down the week graduation after called senior week. There is so much to do down there, obviously go to the beach that is beautiful and entertaining. Also there is a boardwalk with tons of stores, few restaurants and one big arcade. On the main street there is go-karts and mini golf courses and more restaurants.
First to describe the beach I will say that the water looks dirty with a brownish gray color even though it is not dirty at all. There is a disadvantage to swimming in the water if there is a rip tide you can be pulled out to sea. People when pulled out to sea they try to rapidly swim straight to the shore, rather than what there supposed to do which is to swim parallel to the shore till you can swim back to shore with out any problem. And when you first start to enter the water it is freezing, it doesn't help very much when your walking in and you try to get used to the water at your own pace, then you get hit by a wave or step in a hole and drop down a few inches, which makes you cold on the inside. It is also very peaceful to lay and just listen to the ocean and or read a book. It is also known to put you to sleep. Be careful don't fall asleep while laying down you will get burnt that has happened to me and I was feeling it for weeks. You also can look out at sea and see where the ocean meets the horizon its mind boggling that the ocean is that big.
Now imagine as if you were looking at the peninsula for above moving toward the west from the ocean you will hit sand dunes or hotels depending on where your standing. Sand dunes are huge piles of sand that have weeds growing in them which are used to stop flooding in case of hurricanes but if you are located from the inlet which is where the Chesapeake Bay meets the ocean to 30th street you will be at the boardwalk.
