To obtain the voter registration form and the absentee ballot form from my state it was a fairly easy process. There are actually three ways to obtain these forms one way is by calling the General Registrar's office and asking them to mail you the form which could take anywhere from 3-7 days to receive the form depending on where you want it mailed to. Another way would be to actually go to the Registrar's office and requesting a copy of it there, and finally the way that I was able to obtain these forms was by actually going to the website www.viginia.gov and clicking on the various links that lead up to the voter registration and absentee ballots page.
The process that I used was very convenient to me because I am out of state and it would have taken days maybe even a week or so for the forms to actually be sent to me. I also think that this is a convenient way to obtain these forms if you are unable to leave your house or have trouble locating the General Registrar's office. I believe this process of obtaining the forms could actually help in the citizen participation in the election process because all that you have to do with the forms is fill them out and mail them back to your local Registrar, and they will mail your registration card and your absentee ballot information to the address you provide to them on the form. .
After reviewing the forms, they are very easy to fill out, and I personally had no problems filling them out. I also think that no one should have a problem filling out either one of the forms because you can have someone assist you in filling out the forms. Something that I noticed on the voter registration form and on the absentee ballot form was that now you are required to give your Social Security Number, and I remember almost three years ago when I registered it was not a requirement. .
