Conflicts that Kiswanna Browne had with her mother are similar to someone that I know personally. Kiswanna Browne quarrels to her mother mostly about her identity and her purpose in life, the person that I know had almost the same issue, but also had a lot more to say to her parents. The word that would best describe my friend is a liberal hothead. Everything was made into a struggle for her; she always made even the smallest things into the most uprising fight for your right type issue. .
I am a very close friend to this girl and I always used to spend time in her house just either watching TV or playing with her little brothers and sisters. Most of the time that I was there her parents were still at work, so everything was calm. Whenever her parents would come home I would just start to get ready to leave because I knew that there were going to be an argument of some sort and I wasn't really looking forward to seeing it. My friend never told me how it always starts between her and her parents, but she would just tell me that they fought over something that "she is".
She was a type of girl that was very independent, strict to herself, and very determined in what she wanted to do. Her motive was like she has to fight for everything that she wants. I remember that one time her mother received a call from her daughter's History teacher saying that she wrote an essay that had nothing to do with the topic given by him. The topic was "how can we as Americans help in the war in Iraq" but rather than answering that question she wrote about in how we shouldn't support the war and the reasons why. Her mother was furious that her daughter had got an F on the paper, but my friend argued that she wasn't given the right to write what she felt about the topic. Her mother was mad, but understood what her daughter was trying to do. She made it clear to her daughter that it is ok to write or speak your mind, but there are things that you will say but no one will care to listen and will probably judge her the wrong way.
