             of the diamond being found. There are many more stories out there that sound the same .
             but are a bit different. It's believed that gems such as this one are associated with bad .
             luck, death, and curses. In this case Nadir Shah died in a palace trying to defend his .
             treasures, which included the Kohinoor diamond. .
             After years of being in hiding the Kohinoor diamond showed up with a ruler by .
             the name of Daleep Singh, son of Ranjit Singh. After a fierce battle with the British in .
             1840, Daleep Singh handed over the Kohinoor diamond to the British. The diamond has .
             been in the British hands since then.
             In recent years a man by the name of Beant Singh Sandhawalis, seventy-seven.
             years old, has claimed to be the last surviving heir of Daleep Singh, through adoption. .
             He wants to take the diamond back and put it in a museum. He says, "I don't want the.
             Kohinoor for myself. It's a national heritage- If Sandhawalia is found to be the owner, .
             than he would be able to "put his hands on other loot." .
             The problem being that the diamond is in the royal crown, and if the Queen of .
             England chooses not to hand the diamond over then she has that right. Since the capture .
             of the Kohinoor diamond , its been on display in the Tower of London at the British.
