War

Fallujah, Iraq, on Sunday insurgents shot down a US helicopter in central Iraq as it carried troops this killing 15 soldiers and wounding 21. This attack had been one of the worst and bloodiest attack in the war. On the same day in Fallujah and Baghdad another US soldier was killed as well as two US civilians. Saturday had been planned as a "Day of Resistance" in Baghdad against US and coalition forces and threats attributed to Saddam's party created a new wave of violence. Also this week there had bin many suicide bombings from Saddam loyalists or foreign fighters. Donald Rumsfeld said ``In a long, hard war, we're going to have tragic days. But they're necessary. They're part of a war that's difficult and complicated.'' also something must be done to protect the Iraqi borders from Saudi and Iranian terrorists. The insurgents have been steadily revising and improving their strategies on striking US coalition forces. Shoulder fired missiles are becoming more commonly used, and are now scattered throughout Iraq. Ambushes are now frequently occurring against American troops. The Chinooks were carrying up to 50 passengers each. As the war continues attacks are becoming much more frequent as Saddam royalists and other anti American forces are revising their tactics and strategies. The death toll of American troops are higher now then at any other time during this war. The Attacks are getting out of control. This event affects the world in many ways. The American troops feel unsafe new fears and more difficult situations are coming up as these attacks become more frequent. This war becomes more and more controversial in whether rebuilding Iraq will cause more problems than it will solve. I feel that it has and we have now in some ways lost any real support that we had in the start nothing big has really happened and lives are being lost. But at the same time it is now essential that we receive help from allied forces because this war cannot be fought alone.
