Cute Dolphins

I have always had this fascination with dolphins, it amazes me how gifted these aquatic mammals are. Dolphins are popularly noted for their grace, playfulness, and friendliness to man. Their extraordinary abilities and their incredible intelligence easily win people's hearts. In their natural state, they are as free-living and untamed as a deer. Yet unlike most wild creatures, they will voluntarily associate with people. There is no question that dolphins are among the most beautiful and the most intelligent animals in the world.
The name dolphin refers to the species of aquatic creatures that have a well-defined, beak like snout, and a slender, streamline body which help them to swim at high speeds. Dolphins are fantastic swimmers; some species can swim up to the speeds of 35 mph. Dolphins use their flukes, which are two horizontally flattened divisions of the tail that is simply shaped like the wing of an aircraft, to swim through the water by beating them up and down. Dolphins turn mostly my sideway movements of the tail and the fluke. These sea creatures have the advantage of having a nostril like blowhole on the top of their head. This serves as a vent to allow water to escape from the dolphin's body. This also allows them to breathe even though most of their body is underwater. .
Dolphins are sea creatures with a blunt beak-like snout, an upturned mouth that makes it always look like it's smiling, with a row of small cone-like teeth in each jaw, a smooth, slender, streamlined body ending in an wing-like fluke, and a small blowhole on the top of its head. Dolphins are fantastic swimmers, reaching breathtaking speeds with effortless beats of their tail fluke, but can turn on a dime by just sharply curling their body to the side. They've also been known to race ships, cavorting effortlessly on the long bow wave made as the ship sails at top speed. Since the days of sail, the sight of dolphins leading the way has been seen by sailors as a good omen.
