This type of lifestyle also sets an unprecedented sense of freedom and mobility. Iyer also argues that "nowhere is foreign to us", everywhere we travel still seems to be a bit of familiarity. Every country has sushi, Thai restaurants, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I think that Iyers is conveying a message here, and that message is that traveling nowadays has become so common that people have to fly to school many times a year, and a lot of times sleep in airports. .
