             Some basic information about SARS.
             SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) is an atypical pneumonia caused by coronavirus, which was recognized in Asia, North America, and Europe at the end of February 2003. In general , SARS begins with a fever higher than 38C (>100.4A°F). Other symptoms may include headache, an overall feeling of discomfort, body aches, dry couth, troubles with breathing. The primary way that SARS appears to spread is by close person-to-person contact. Potential ways include touching things contaminated with infectious droplets and then touching your eye, nose, or mouth. It also is possible that SARS can be spread more broadly though the air or by other ways that are current not known.
             The great impact.
             Generally speaking, the impact is no less powerful than the mushroom after a nuclear explosion. In China, which is the most seriously affected areas, the prime minister Mr. Wen Jiabao said it was becoming "increasing apparent" that China's economy, officially the world's fastest growing, was being hit. The Chinese economy grew by 8% in 2002, but some analysts forecast growth may slow to 6.5% this year. Firstly, the business activities continue to cause concern. A number of foreign firms have closed their offices in China or ordered expatriate employees to return home. On May 6th, America's Motorola closed its main Beijing office after an employee had become infected with SARS. Sales of McDonald's have fallen in China as customers stay at home. In fact, all the service industry faces the same problems.
