             Teenagers need adult guidance more than ever to understand all the emotional and physical changes they are experiencing. When teens" mood disrupt their ability to function on a day-to day basis it may indicate a serious emotional or mental disorder that needs attention. When your teen shows signs of depression or seems to be pulling away take the signs seriously and seek help immediately. .
             Sometimes teens feel so depressed that they consider ending their lives. Each year the teenage suicide rate has gone up immensely. Suicidal teens may view a temporary situation as a permanent condition. They don't think rationally and act more on impulse rather than thinking over the situation. Their feelings of anger and resentment combined with exaggerated guilt can lead to impulsive, self-destructive actions.
             Teenagers give clear warning signs, and it's vital when you believe you might have a suicidal son or daughter to pay close attention to how he or she is interacting with his close friends and family. Sometimes your teen is direct in stating suicide threats. Take their threats seriously and immediately seek counseling. If your son or daughter develops an obsession with death such as explicit drawings, poems, and/or essays that refer to death you should take those signs as a warning your teen may have stronger feelings about suicide. .

             If your teenager's character takes on a dramatic change in personality or appearance or he or she develops an irrational, bizarre behavior those are also warning signs of potential thoughts of suicide. A dramatic change in their eating or sleeping pattern, severe drop in school performance, or giving away of personal belongings shows your teen is either craving attention from you as a parent or friend or he or she is preparing themselves to end their life.
             Teenagers struggle with difficult issues everyday. Sometimes they just feel overwhelmed and don't know how to deal with their feelings so they result to suicide.
