inner beauty is your true beau

Unlike Angelous" many men this one on one relationship between the artist and his model is intimate and personal. .
The difference between the two poems is that Angelou is able to see the beauty in herself and the artist in Rossetti's poem is able to see the beauty of his model. However, Angelou does not leave out how others react to her. As this phenomenal woman enters a room "the fellows stand or fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around [her] a hive of honey bees," (Angelous 18) her confidence beams off of her like the light from the moon and men become helpless against it. Much like the artist describes the presence of his model as "fair as the moon and joyful as the light." (Rossetti 11) The fact that she includes the reaction that men have when they see her shows that it doesn't always take a beautiful body or a pretty face to be noticed but it is the way you present yourself. She continues to point out that men do not understand why they are drawn to a woman of her build. She concludes it is "the grace of her style," (Angelous 28) that men can't resist. In Rossetti's poem the physical appearance of the model is not described in any detail. Instead we see how the artist reacts to his subject. In the first line "one face looks out from all his canvases," (Rossetti 1) we can see that he can look at the figure in front of him and find so many different interruptions of her all which are described as some form of beauty. "A saint, an angel-ever canvas means." (Rossetti 7) It is also important to note the true physical appearance of the model is never revealed. It shows that no matter what shape she may be or what her facial features are: she is her own work of art, she is beautiful. .
Each poem has a solid message of how women are portrayed in today's society. A good example is how the passionate envisions of the artist come to a screeching stop towards the end of the poem.
