LowLife: Food

Could be rough R&B if it wanted as C-Swing has produced for the like of Jamelia and Beverly Knight. Lyrically this is scintillatingly attractive, the flow of mystro's quite gruff voice over the mildly melodic tone go together nicely. .
If you don't think that the first two tracks are not of normality to usual Low Life tracks then the next track is classical of a Low Life cut. Showbitchness a track about the nature of the "game" is produced by the legendary Harry Love and has Verb-T spitting some vicious lines. The production itself is made up of a mellow horn-heavy jazz break over some sharp drums. What makes this track interesting is the fact that for some reason it's censored. This track is complete with ill cuts, scratches and a Michael Jackson sample over the top, thus making this joint a lot more enjoyable than the original 12" track.
2002 was an amazing year for Jehst, the young 23-year-old emcee from Kent. Firstly he signed to Low Life Records and his critically acclaimed album "Return of the Drifter" was one of the heaviest album on UK Hip Hop scene, it was also a big seller in the German Hip Hop Circle. Anyways, Jehst has the mic for this next track, "Adventures in New Bohemia" a track about living student life makes this album a must have. Jehst's witty and off hand lines are those of a classic in the making. Produced by Jehst himself he uses a brilliant honky-tonk style piano for the main melody over a hyped set of drums. Personally I just cannot get over how amazing this track is, I've had this album for 3 months and still everyday I've got hear this track, it is THAT good. Jehst's different flow is highlighted amazingly within this using 3 snare kicks a line opposed to the classic 2 snares. Lines of brilliance like "crumbs in the butter/ there's a new life outside I"m tryna discover". Also his use of internal rhyming within this track is out of this world. "We sip beers and split hairs over current affairs/ any unwelcome guests get chucked down the stairs/ a place where I peddle my fairs, more fun than the fear/ B-Boys hold down the square.
