Intense Test

Have you ever been through an intense test where your decision will determine whether you live or die? In life you go through many intense test, but not as intense as the characters in The Crucible went through. Characters in The Crucible were accused of witchcraft for their land. They were accused because they didn't go to church; plowed on Sundays, have little dolls in the house, and other things. If the accuse convinced the judges that he/ she is a witch, then he/she would be hung. If they confessed after they were convicted they will be able to live, but they"ll loose their land. If they didn't confess than they keep their land and are hung. Most of the characters didn't confess, because by confessing they would be lying. Lying was one of the biggest sin in the Puritan religion. The characters that went through intense test were Mary Warren, Elizabeth Proctor, and John Proctor. .
Mary Warren was one of the characters that went through an intense test. She had to go in court and testify in the Abigail Williams against Elizabeth Proctor trial. Abigail Williams is a friend of Marry Warren. She controls Marry Warren throughout the book. Elizabeth Proctor is wife of John Proctor. Marry Warren is the current servant of the Proctors". Abigail accused Elizabeth of withcraft on her. Marry Warren had to come to the court and testify. Her test was to decide to take either Elizabeth's side or Abigail's. If she took Proctors" side, then "they will turn on me-", (80), states Mary. If she took Abigail's" side then she would go to hell for lying and be responsible for murder of Elizabeth. When she took Elizabeth's side Abigail starts to fake "You will not! Begone! Begone, I say! (114), as if Mary was a witch. She changes her mind and lies so she will not be accused of witchery. She choose to lie and be on Abigail's" side and, save her own life. .
Elizabeth Proctor was also another character that was put through intense tests.
