Dress Codes

An example is, khakis or Dockers are the appropriate style of casual dress pants, and, Capri pants are not acceptable for business casual days. Shirts should have been broken down to include the acceptable and not acceptable. In the memo it simply states short or long sleeves. This should have included the type of shirt. For example, polo or oxford-type shirts are the acceptable attire regarding shirts. It should have also stated that collars are required, sleeveless shirts and shirts that bare the midriff or back are not acceptable. Several female teammembers have come in wearing shirts that revealed their midriff, this is just not acceptable work attire at any time. When the female team members came in and were questioned about this, they became very hostile and stated; "There was nothing in the dress code that said I could not wear this type of clothing." Again, the memo was so vague that it created an issue with dress and hurt feelings. .
The next item that was not listed on the memo was the proper attire regarding dresses, dress lengths, skirts and skorts. It should have been noted that skorts are not acceptable at any time, and dresses and skirts should be a proper professional length. For business casual, shoes should also be noted in the memo so there is no confusion for what is and is not acceptable.
Casual day attire should have also been broken out into a more detailed explanation. Several team-members have abused this policy by wearing jeans with holes in them and shirts with competitor's logos on them. It should be noted that jeans should be clean with no holes; Capri pants are acceptable. T-shirts and sweatshirts are acceptable as long as there are no large graphics or logo on them and they are clean without holes. Dresses and skirts should have been noted together with their proper length and that skorts, even for casual day, are not acceptable attire. Shoes should have also been included.
