The Human Services Division is charged with handling matters of the Department of Health and the Department of Human Services. This department is also in charge of the state's social welfare matters. The Criminal Division is the state's prosecutorial agency that focuses on the investigation and prosecution of public corruption, white collar crimes, and police misconduct, as well as other criminal matters that involve a violation of the state's laws.              Another office of the Executive Branch is the State Auditor of Accounts Office, which is charged with maximizing the value of the taxpayers" dollar to help shape an efficient, reliable, and responsive state government. The State Auditor has available the two tools of Audits and Reviews to achieve this primary goal. Annual audits are conducted of the states financial statements to insure the integrity of information provided by the government's agencies. This office is also charged with keeping a check over the state's regulations and controls regarding the expenditure of both state and federally provided funds. Every state agency is also reviewed to make sure they are complying with relevant statutory mandates. (SAO).
             Although the State Auditor is charged with keeping check over the state's financial matters, the state's actual finances are handled by the Treasurer's Office. The Treasurer's Office oversees abandoned and unclaimed property until it is claimed by its rightful owner, or it will stay in the control of the state until such a time. This office also oversees the state employee and teacher's retirement funds, as well, acts as the taxing authority of the state. The Treasurer's Office is also responsible for the collection of funds due to the state, and payment of funds owed by the state. (Mission).
             The Secretary of State's Office oversees notaries public, as well as, the state's elections including lobbyist registration and disclosures.
