Flaws of Ciminal Justice System

The criminal justice system clearly is not perfect. There are many critical issues that it is facing. I am going to focus on four of these critical issues. The four issues that I have chosen to focus on are: racial profiling, corruption of police officers, the bail system, and the rehabilitation of criminals. Society must address these issues in the near future. I am going to offer my solutions for dealing with these matters in an effective manner. All of these issues will have an impact on society. Hopefully, my solutions would have a positive impact on society. .
The first issue that I shall address is racial profiling. This is an important issue because if minorities are not treated fairly in the criminal justice system, the nation will never be totally united. The fact that minorities are being treated harder in the criminal justice system is just one more fact that the old saying "all men are created equal," is false. If you do not think that this is a problem than you should take a look at these facts: .
-African Americans account for one-third of all arrests and one-half of all incarcerations in the United States. (Meeks).
-Since 1980 the proportion of Hispanic Americans among all inmates in U.S. prisons has risen from 7.7 percent to 14.3 percent. (Cole Smith).
-About one-fifth of all 16- to 34-year old African American males are under criminal justice supervision. (Meeks).
-The rate of unfounded arrests of Hispanics in California is double that of whites. (Cole Smith).
-Among 100,000 black males aged 15-19, 68 will die of a homicide involving a gun, compared to about 6 among 100,000 white males in the same age group. (Meeks).
-The crime victimization rate is 260 per 1,000 Hispanic households versus 144 per 1,000 non-Hispanic households. (Cole Smith).
These numbers can be very alarming. It is obvious that minorities have more trouble with the law than whites. That is not fair. In order to fix this problem one must understand why it occurs.
