Flaws of Ciminal Justice System

When an officer is on the job he looks for trends and patterns that will make his job easier. The officer will look at the crime rates for the community he is patrolling. If the officer discovers that minorities are four times more likelyto be arrested than whites, he will "play the statistics," and watch for more minorities in that community. If more minorities are being watched, then more minorities will be arrested. Then when the crime rates are updated the community will once again have a higher minority crime rate than a white crime rate. The cycle continues which causes more minorities to be arrested than whites. .
The only way to solve this problem is to "break the cycle." We must start fresh. The crime rates should be thrown out. This way everyone has an equal start. If an officer is not keeping an eye out for minorities then less minorities would be arrested. This would also lead to more whites being arrested. .
Society would be split on this decision. On one hand minorities would finally be able to say that the criminal justice system is fair. Whites on the other hand would be irate. Whenever a minority would commit a crime and get away with it the whites would be up in arms. This causes a problem for the police department. Since whites pay more money towards taxes than minorities they are putting more money into the police departments. If the police went through with my idea they would lose support of the taxpayers which would cost them money. Whites would not want to put money into a police department, which they thought was unfair. You see even if all people are being kept on an equal playing surface, whites would feel that they were being treated unfair because they are not put on higher pedestal than everyone else is. The problem is that society as a whole must answer, not just the criminal justice system. .
There is another thing that must be done to help eliminate racial profiling.
