Satiracal... Mobile Phones

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this Nokia 3310 and Melissa Smith together in holy matrimony. Melissa, do you take this Nokia to have and to hold in your pocket, in sickness and in dying batteries, till death do you part, or until a newer model is released?".
             "I do".
"And now by the virtue of the authority invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife.".
Such is the relationship between mobile phone owners and their mobiles these days. Mobile phones have become friends to the owners, companions to the owners and children to the owners. Everywhere you go you can see people going for walks with their phones, shopping for their phones and even sharing personal conversations with their phones; sharing their innermost secrets. .
It seems that anyone deprived the company of a phone is not up to date with the modern world and is an outcast from society. The shame such people feel has forced them to use home phones, or worse still, forced them to dark allies and corners; shut away from the rest of the world; to use dull-coloured mechanical communication boxes; once common to the ordinary society but now a thing of the past. Such devises known as "payphones". Society, so busily caught up in the flurry of technology, have failed to realize that the forty cents deposited in these "payphones" is usually much cheaper than the high priced thirty second call rates of mobiles.
The status of a person with a mobile is much higher than the status of one without a mobile. Better yet, one's status may be raised by actually talking on the mobile. Though, this may not always be possible, due to lack of credit on one's phone. If such a situation is to arise, it is customary to speak on the mobile, regardless of whether anyone is on the other end. In doing so, precautions must be taken, such as turning off the ringing volume on one's phone.
Phones are treasured dearly by their owners; loved unconditionally.
