The victim uses such coping methods as narcotics, alcohol and anti-depressants frequently to help cope with putting the reminiscences of the past out of their mind. The Canadian Government has issued a regulation stating "anyone who induces a person under 18 to contribute in any explicit sexual conduct for the manufacturing of visual representation is guilty, and liable to 10 years imprisonment". The maximum penalty for this particular offense is rarely imposed and bail is possible for a large sum. Also very little is done to see that there is counseling for the convicted to help them try and identify with the harm of inflicting children to such degradation. The making of these films and magazines involving the exploitation children is altering the perception this child has on life. The people who force this pain need to be penalized accordingly.

These children wandering the streets are often approached and persuaded to join a pimp, which operates the sex ring. These men set up the child with a client, as well as furnishing them with drugs and beatings when called for.
