All of the clothing with in the store is dark colors, even the select few women's clothes. All of the sporting equipment is black, brown, gray, or some other relating color. This differs greatly from a women's store. Take a store like Victoria's Secret for instance. That store is all in pink, red, gold, and silver. These colors appeal to women and that is why Hibbett Sports kept them out of their store. .
Along with the smell and the color, the organization of this store also makes it obvious that Hibbett Sports is a male's territory. Everything inside of the store is very crowed and not very well planned out. You first walk into the store and there is clothing for men everywhere. It seemed to have no organization at all. It did not matter what rack you put anything back up on because everything was so spread out and unorganized. As you keep walking further into the store, there is a tiny section of women's workout clothing. It might have had three racks of clothes. If nothing else, this made it very obvious that this was a men's store. To the left of the little women's section, was a children's section. You can hardly call it a children's section though because it only had clothes for little boys, not little girls. Something that I found interesting was that the children's section was larger than the women's section. This further gave notice that this was a men's store. The organization of the store differed from that of a women's store. A women's store would have everything nice and neat. It would not be crowded at all. Everything would have its own special place so you would have to put a shirt that you had tried on back exactly where you found it.
The employees at Hibbett Sports fit right in to the idea that this is a male's territory. Most of the employees of this store are male with the exception of a few women. The women who work at this store are treated just like they are "one of the boys.
