Counter Factual Essay

It's the year two-thousand-two; I have just gotten back from a weeklong celebration for the Queen mum's fiftieth year reign. It was held at Disney world, the place everyone wants to go when they accomplish something big. There were also celebrations going on all over, in many of England's cities such as:Cornwallis D.C.?, at theCornwallis Monument?; Mount Rushmore, to include the faces of many past influential Prime Ministers: Winston Churchill, John Major, David Loyd George and Benjamin Disraeli. But this celebration is supposed to be nothing compared to the one that is going to be held on October nineteenth, to celebrate two-hundred-twenty-one years since Cornwallis defeated the colonies at Yorktown.
It all started back in the 1700's, when the British colonies wanted to become a free and independent country from Britain. A document that they called theDeclaration of Independence? was sent to King George III. The states listed all the reasons why they wanted freedom from Britain and some other stuff too but that was not as important as how it was a declaration of war to Britain. George III met with one of best generals, General Cornwallis. He and Cornwallis came up with a plan of action and presented it to the colonies. There would be a battle at Yorktown between Britain and the colonies. If the colonies won they would gain their independence, if Britain won they would gain all authority over all the land in America. George Washington, the first president, met with George III and willingly agreed to the deal.
The Americans had calculated that their troops outnumbered British troops two-to-one. They were very cocky going into the fight, but more so on fire with patriotism to gain independence. The British, on the other hand, were carefully planning out strategies, getting reports back from spies they had sent out to listen of what the word was on the street. After having heard about the numbers the colonists had, Britain decided to hire some soldiers from Germany.
