India's Debate: Continue With Old Farming Methods Or Introduce The New Genetically Modified Seeds

Since I have been elected into the parliament of India, I would propose that the people of India, that are farmers, should have the right to make the decision on GM crops or recycling their own seeds. There are many farmers that are on both sides of the argument. Even if we were to take a poll of who would want to work with GM or not then those results would be just as split as are many people's opinions.
The GM seeds have been genetically altered by placing a strand of bacteria into the seed so that when the plant grows it puts off a bacteria that is harmful to bugs and any other harmful creature so that they will not eat up the plants. The GM seeds also cut down on how much and how often the crops would have to be sprayed down with pesticides. Without the GM seeds, when the farmers use their own recycled seeds they have to spray down their fields ten to twelve times and with the GM seeds the plants only have to be sprayed six or seven times. The amount of pesticides that would have to be sprayed on the plants would be much less so then that would save the farmers money on buying so many pesticides. . There are some farmers that have no idea what a genetically modified seed even is so therefore they do not worry with the debate as much. There are some farmers that know nothing about GM seeds but if they use those seeds and get a higher yield within their crops then they are going to be more drawn to the idea of the GM seeds. Many people within India are getting sick for no apparent reason, and to introduce these new GM seeds to them they would be very weary of this because they seem to already have problems with many people getting sick from the pesticides that are being used right now. .
Farmers could save money on buying fewer pesticides to spray on the crops and they do get a much higher yield when the GM seeds are used. But when it comes time to plant their new harvest the farmers cannot recycle their own seeds, they have to go out and purchase them every time that they are going to start a new crop.
