The Liberals are unhappy with the Harris-Eves "US-style of health care", .
and feel that we need a "fresh injection of the values, commitment and leadership .
that built Medicare". They believe in a publicly-funded, universal healthcare .
system, and plan to invest in Medicare to ensure that Ontario once again .
becomes a leader in health care. They plan to help Ontarians stay healthy in .
every stage of life by recruiting and training more health care professionals.
The Liberals seem to have done a good job of sticking to their campaign platform. The television ads have addressed many of the main points in their platform, as well as brochures and other handouts. Newspaper articles (both locally and nationally) that address the issues as they apply to the Liberal party have been for the most part within the boundaries of their campaign platform. Of course, polls have indicated for most of the campaign, that the Liberals were the favourites. In that case, it is pretty easy for a campaign to stick to their guns, instead of having to resort to other tactics and strategies. .
LOCAL ELECTION PLATFORM.
The local Liberal platform does not seem to differ that much from the provincial platform. However, of course, there are local issues that get raised time and time again that Orazietti will have to address.
