International Institute for Political and Economic Studies

My name is Dalia and I am a graduate of the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, Egypt. I have majored in business administration and I am currently preparing for my MBA.
I am writing you this letter from Chania, Crete to express my deepest thanks and gratitude for your generous contributions to The Fund for American Studies that have allowed us this life-time opportunity of attending the International Institute for Political and Economic Studies (IIPES) 2003.
One of my main reasons for attending IIPES was an eagerness to meet people my age from the Mediterranean, Balkans and the United States. I was interested in discussing with people from different countries both economic and political issues of their regions and learning more about their cultures, values, language and history.
Now that the three weeks are almost over, I cannot help but look back at those days with a smile, a sense of achievement, a hope for our world. Communication was the key, listening to each other was a skill we learnt and what we learnt from each other and about each other was more than interesting.
We have started relationships that will hopefully be long lasting.
Those three weeks were a wonderful experience, more than words can describe and I once again thank you indeed for your generosity, for investing in my future, for making me want to be a better person, to make a difference in our world. .
             With gratitude,.
             Dalia.
