When I base my worth and identity on my relationship with Christ, I am freed from the expectations of this world, and this allows me to truly serve. How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll inside a Tootsie Roll Pop? The answer to that is however many the creator of the Tootsie Roll Pop allows. I am like a Tootsie Roll Pop, with a inner core center full of juicy, gummy, sweetness. My outer sweet candy coated shell represents my candy-coated goodness God has blessed me with. It is my SHAPE - Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences, God's gift to me. The outer Wax wrapper every Tootsie Pop is first seen with represents what people see me as in a worldly sense, the paper like image that has no part of me but covers God's creation. Who I truly am, who God intended me to be. Going back, the Tootsie Roll represents Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, my inner core center full of juicy, gummy, sweetness, and in reality, it takes a lifetime of licks to get to the Tootsie Roll in a Tootsie Roll Pop. .
Life is really like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get, you never know what you could have gotten. Only the creator of the box can know this. Just like that, every chocolate in a box of chocolate represents opportunity. Life is opportunity in itself, and within this opportunity we have other opportunities t make choices whether or not to take the opportunity to do good or take the opportunity to do bad, or even not take the opportunity to do anything at all. To not do anything at all about an opportunity is just as bad as turning an opportunity and using it for bad. Missed opportunity is becoming dead, not living your life, your purpose. I made a vow with God when I excepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit into my heart, to make sure I would take every opportunity to share and help with those who are in pain, those seeking what I have been fortunate to have found, and love and accept others with all my heart, just as Jesus accepted me with open arms.
