Toss in a little Robin Hood, then sprinkle on King Richard I, oh, don't forget a dash of The Sheriff of Nottingham, King John I, and Sir Guy of Gisbourne. Next add the Maid Marian and a smidgen of the Saxons, plus add years of sweltering anger. Add fighting when necessary, but be careful of excess. What is the end result? This is a recipe for one of the largest known myths, the story of Robin Hood, whether it be myth or a figment of imagination, compared from 1938 to 1999.
             Two movies, both created in separate times, shown to hundreds of thousands of people that formed temporary thoughts that will live in the hearts and minds of viewers forever.
             These movies were formed from two completely different time periods. The first being incredibly vague and fluent to the times in which it was made. The second being the completely opposite, and a little more up to date for what the viewers are used to seeing. .
             In 1938, America was very limited on sex and violence. In the mid 1930's there were restrictions placed on the film industry following the establishment of the Production Code Administration. However, Warner Brothers Studios went around this law and found relief from censorship by bringing out different areas of talent and entertainment. The Studios went about this in various ways by creating a renaissance of the historical-costume adventure including swordplay, sweeping action, and romantic charm. At the time, Robin Hood was the largest budgeted, at about million dollars, but still stuck to the original theme that Robin Hood was known as. There were no encounters with witchcraft nor was there any sort of .
             The most dramatic change between the two movies would be the fact that Robin Hood 1991 had a colored man in it. By adding a man of color to the movie, it brought about our diversity in our values.
