When Ww1 Was Over

When the war was over, and the Triple entente had won, many started to blame Germany for the war.
They started a big peace treaty at Versailles, near Paris. France, U.S.A and Britain made most of the decisions. Germany and Austria were not allowed to be involved. Here are their suggestions on how they feel Germany should be treated:.
France wanted to punish Germany a great deal as most of the war had taken place in France. They were suffering. Germany had destroyed 750,000 homes, 23,000 factories and killed one and a half million young men. Clemenceau, the French prime minister also wanted to make sure France was safe from another attack and money to pay for repair and loss.
The U.S.A had suffered a great deal less than Europe in the war. They believed that punishing Germany would only make Germany want revenge. This would mean more trouble for the future. They wanted countries such as Poland and Czechoslovakia to become strong and independent. And France to feel safe against another German attack. They also wanted to set up a League of Nations- an organization to protect world peace.
Britain wanted to make a fair settlement to avoid any more trouble in the future.
I think that Germany was the main cause of the war. However they weren't the only ones who started it. Austria was the one that started the first battle, using the assassination as an excuse to attack Serbia. It was wrong to let Germany alone pay 6600million pounds in gold and goods, as it was an impossible sum to pay. I think the costs should have been equally divided among Austro-Hungarian Empire and Germany as each were equally to blame for the war, this way it would have reduced the amount and the U.S.A wouldn't have had to help Germany pay the sum.
Instead of letting Germany pay everything in gold and goods, they should have taken in consideration that since they already had taken back Germany's conquered land and cut back their military strength they had already lost most of their riches, therefore the total amount of 6600million pounds should have been reduced.
