Social Phobia

It may sound crazy but please indulge. It may answer why many people go through more problems in life when compared to their counterparts.
To start off, I suffer from depression & social phobia. I had a nervous breakdown when I was 21 years old. I was at a social gathering & was being introduced to people, when I suddenly lost control. I had an attack of total terror & muscles in my face became paralyzed. I could not even say "Hello, I am pleased to meet you." I was completely aware of what was happening to me but I was not able to shake off the fear. The attack subsided after about 30 minutes, but I felt horribly embarrassed. My attacks initially were sporadic but started increasing gradually until one day, the anxiety I felt became a 24/7 trauma. I am 40 now & under medication.
All my life, I have been treated like a "doormat." I have been bullied, ignored & rejected. Even now, I get flashbacks of my past & it turns my body cold with fear & hot with humiliation. I have never been promoted at work though I am a capable, conscientious & dependable worker. I am intelligent & have a high IQ but in the office, I am totally neglected. I have a right to be treated with respect like anyone else. But this has rarely happened. I tried to analyze why & came up with this theory.
For everything, there is an opposite. For happiness, there is sadness. For love, there is hate. For black there is white.
At some point in life, we have all encountered a charismatic individual. They have an electrifying presence & are extremely persuasive. People tend to fawn over such people, always eager to please. Most of the junta go out of their way to win the approval of the charismatic individual, always saying the right things & being sympathetic to almost whatever is said. The adulation happens at a very primitive & sub conscious level.
If there can be a charismatic individual, why can't there be personalities who have the "opposite" nature? People, who don't inspire, but invoke resentment without even lifting a finger.
