Frankenstein

In humans, the method would start with a single cell - any cell may do - taken from the adult who wants to be cloned. Using an electrical jolt, scientists would fuse the genes from that cell with a specially treated donor egg cell whose own genes had been removed. That cell would be allowed to grow into an embryo in the laboratory. The embryo would be implanted into the womb of a surrogate mother, where it would develop into a person genetically identical to the original donor. In the novel however, Victor took "whole" pieces from different people and arranged them into a human being. The electrical jolt seems to be a common thread between the fictional novel and scientific fact. .
This scientific practice has been dreamed up in many different ways and it is interesting to see how they all tie in together. In the past there have been many Frankenstein stories and many people in the field of science have been quick to criticize these works of science fiction. For example, when Jurassic Park was released in 1994, Steven Spielberg was flooded with letters from science majors saying that his film was ridiculous and that it was a mockery to all those who took science seriously. Who would've known that in just a few short years, this movie of science fiction would become science "fact!" The movie dealt with many of the moral and ethical issues that are always the center of discussion when this topic is brought up. Is it right to bring something to life that has no idea what it is or where it came from? Would it be right to bring a dinosaur back to present day? It would have no idea where it is and would defend itself, violently if necessary. I"m sure that in the heat of discovery, Victor Frankenstein never stopped to question the outcome of creating an artificial being and how it would react to its first moments of life and how it would respond to new surroundings and the people it would eventually come into contact with.
