Betrayal

Lana learned that devotion and trust are valuable ingredients in a true friendship. If these qualities don't exist in a friendship, then it is very possible that the friendship needs work. Lana Connor found out at the age of fifteen that one should pick friends wisely or life will quickly head down the wrong direction. A valuable lesson was learned and it has helped her to live a better life today.
When an individual is moved away from the comfortable surroundings of one school to the unknown of another, they are put into a critical state. Lana was desperate to make a place for herself in her new surroundings. In her mind making friends was priority and she was willing to reach out to any one who gave her attention. It didn't take long until she found a group who seemed to be accepting of her. As time passed Lana began to spend most of her time with a young girl named Cara. Unknowing to Lana, Cara was known at school as a disobedient student. A month or so passed and Lana became more conscious of Cara's rambunctious ways by Cara's actions. Cara began skipping school, stealing her mother's cigarettes, and using lots of foul language. It seemed like every time Lana got around Cara she was being pressured into doing something she didn't want to. It was becoming harder for Lana to say no to Cara's proposals when time after time she saw Cara get away with her crimes. Lana knew that it was a matter of time before Cara's luck would run out. .
Sometimes one feels that they should get away from someone but the fear of being alone makes them stay. Lana was in this predicament herself, she knew that Cara was not the person she hoped but the thought of being alone was not appealing either. Lana should have escaped then because what happened to Lana and Cara next changed both of their lives forever. One afternoon Lana and Cara decided to visit the mall. After arriving Cara complained of hunger.
