Syphilis is caused by a bacterium Treponema pallidum.
It is transmitted almost exclusively through sexual intercourse.
Diagnosis/Treatment.
Syphilis is diagnosed by a chancre sore that is highly infectious that usually last 4 to 5 weeks. The second stage has a variety of symptoms including rash, sore throat, bone and joint soreness and patchy hair loss which lasts 2 to 6 weeks. The latency period develops lasting months to years where there is no visible sign of illness. The late stage occurs to or more decades following the initial infection where soft rubbery tumors can be found on the body as well as additional extensive damage to the brain, heart and circulatory system and can lead to death.
Syphilis can be treated by the use of antibiotics.
Long Term Risks are that any damage already done to the body can not be reversed.
Candida Albicans & Trichonomas Vaginalis /Vaginal Infections.
Cause.
The yeast fungus candida albicans is an organism commonly found in the vagina and can multiply rapidly when some unusual stressor (pregnancy, birth control pill or antibiotics, diabetes) affects the woman's body. Trichomonas vaginalis also produces vaginal infections. .
Transmission. Trichomonas vaginalis can be transmitted through sexual intercourse or by contact with contaminated objects such as damp towels and toilet seats that may contain vaginal discharge.
Diagnosis/Treatment. A white or cream-colored discharge signals this infection as well as vaginal itching and vulvar swelling and can be treated by several prescription and over the counter drugs. Trichomonas vaginalis is signaled by a yellow-green, foul smelling discharge that may be accompained by itching, swelling, and painful urination. It can be treated by topical and oral antibiotics.
Genital Warts.
Cause. It is currently believed that for women, sexual activity before age 20, intercourse with three or more partners before age 35, and intercourse with a partner who has had three or more partners can be the cause.
