1. Mr. Holland's Opus
Holland shows many good qualities that God would be happy with. He lives out a Dream, and he helps others out with their Dreams as well. He shows a few signs of conversion, and also a lot of unconditional love and love for others. .
At the beginning of this movie Mr. Holland wanted to compose great music, it was his Dream. At the end of the film, about 30 years later, he gets his first song played by some of his students from the past and present day, and he achieved his Dream. Throughout the movie he helped a number of students achieve their Dream. First he helped future mayor Gertrude Lang play the flute, and then after that even though it wasn't his Dream he helps Lou Russ learn to play the drums when he hadn't any knowledge of music at all. Later he helps the actress achieve her Dream to go to New York City and achieve a bigger Dream.
There are a couple of incidents of conversion in Mr. Holland's Opus. The main one was how Mr. Holland at first dreaded the thought of teaching kids, and when they got rid of the music program 30 years later, he didn't know how to handle it. Another time of conversion is at first when his child is born he is ecstatic about him, and a little bit later they find out he is 90% deaf and it almost seems like he is mad at Cole for it, because he can't teach him things like he could his students. This continues until Cole is a teenager and he changes his attitude towards his son's problem, and realizes they can still communicate and love each other. .
Mr. Holland shows unconditional love to almost everyone in this story with exception of the principal. He showed unconditional love to all of his students, even the ones who goofed off during class, and he continued to work with them until they played to the best of their abilities. He also shows unconditional love to his family, although sometimes it seemed like he didn't, but he made many sacrifices for them and their well-being.
