But Islam is a religion that calls for brotherhood, and so followers stayed with Muhammad, to whom they had professed their faith to. This true brotherhood attracted believers already inside the walls of Mekka. Muhammad and his followers first started to spread to the states, peoples, and nomads on the boarders of Mekka.              Islam spread all around, through the nomads, to the East, in the Arabian Peninsula. They traded with these nomads on their way to Asia. To the West, to the Western African empires in Timbuktu, Muhammad and his followers started a Muslim University. This happened after Muslim scholars were used as government advisors. The Muslims had a written language, and were used to write Government documents. .
The Dynasty that started the conquest towards Spain was the Umayyad dynasty from Baghdad. Their conquest (year 711) was started by the Arab governors of this time. Most of the advancing and military help came from Berbers, a group of North African Nomads. Though these Nomads disliked Arabs in general, but they did accept Islam. The conquest of these cities was very fast. In five years the Berbers took over the cities Toledo, Cordoba, and Seville. Spain was a very divided land at this time, so there was no alliance against the Islamic army.
