The story A Catcher in the Rye written by J. Salinger was all about a young man named Holden Caulfield. Holden was a michevious boy from New York City whom always lacked off in his doings. He would never care about school and his grades, but always managed to get a good passing grade in English that was taught by a teacher named Mr. Spencer. Holden learns the most valuable lessons about everyday life and wonders why he has to live the life he has. .
Holden had three siblings" back home that he thought of most of the time, two of which were older than he was. His oldest brother D.B. was a writer that moved away to Hollywood. One of the many books he wrote was The Secret Goldfish. It was about a little boy that didn't want anyone to touch his goldfish because he had bought it with his own money. His second oldest brother Allie died of leukemia at a very young age. His favorite sibling was his only sister Phoebe. He would talk about her the most around people and brag about her. She was only eight years old and was very intelligent for her age.
Holden Caulfield started out in his life at a school named Thompson Hill and then to a school called Whooton. It began roughly for him because he was kicked out of both schools for not doing any work. His horrible grades forced him to move to an all boys school Pency Prep where he lived in the dorms with a friend called by the name Ackley and an arrogant roommate named Stradlater. He got into many fights with his friends around the school and hardly got along with anyone. His parents thought he would do well there and it would set his priorities straight. Unfortunately, the outcome didn't come out the way they were hoping for.
His life was pretty much a mess all of the time. He was a sixteen-year-old boy all on his own trying to find his way through his hectic life. Whether it's about girls or school he always wanted a conversation with someone whom has had experience with those particular subjects.
